I’m sure it’s no surprise that we at the Hoopers are huge Disney fans. As a child I had many of the Disney Videos and I grew up during the production period of The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the beast. There was something that seemed to draw me in to the story and hook me into the the characters.
My Disney Adventure
This was also the time when my parents took me to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. A fantastic time to share experiences that aren’t available anywhere else in the world. I remember our first adventure to Disney like it was yesterday.
Setting off to the Magic Kingdom, without any notion of what was there. We boarded the ferry boat from the huge car park to find the parks entrance. As the boat moved across Bay Lake a speed boat shot by with Goofy following on water skis! He was actually quite good at it. When the boat docked we followed the crowd on into the park, where Characters from Pinocchio, were greeting guests.
Our first port of call was the Walt Disney World Railroad, which took us on a circular tour of the park. This was great to see the area, but also we learned some special information. It was Mickey Mouse’s 60th birthday and we were invited to join in the celebrations! Every corner held a new surprise and every direction was a new adventure. The memories that were created back in 1988/9 have lasted my entire life.
And it doesn’t take much to spark off those memories again now. We’ve managed to revisit my childhood memories with our children and they seem to have taken in as much as I did all those years ago. Which is my we can’t wait to see Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure at the Metro Arena.
