Annie The Musical Newcastle

Annie The Musical – Tyne Theatre & Opera House

One of the most famous family musicals hits the Tyne Theatre and Opera House in Newcastle this half term holiday. Toe tapping, singing and lots of tissues at the ready for Annie The Musical, which has been delighting audiences since its Broadway opening in 1977.

Annie The Musical

Produced by Astravaganza Entertainment, Annie tells the tale of the poor orphan girl who’s luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas with billionaire Daddy Warbucks.  Annie is happy to escape from the horrible orphanage owner Miss Hannigan, who is determined to spoil everything. Songs from Annie The Musical include Tomorrow, Hard Knock Life and Easy Street.  You will know all of the catchy numbers well, if you have spent a Christmas in the UK where Annie on TV is as standard as a turkey dinner.

Imogen and Abigail are super excited about this performance as they watch the updated Hollywood version on loop on Netflix! They know the words by heart and hope that Annie’s dog Sandy makes an appearance.

  5. my favourite musical is Annie, I spent many an hour as a child watching it, then rewinding the vhs (!!) then watching it again, I drove my family absolutely nuts, but bless them, they never stopped me watching it, even when I was badly belting out the words to hard knock life, the sun’ll come out, little girls and I LOVED the song they sing when they’re getting ready to go to the cinema with Daddy Warbucks, just can’t quite remember what it’s called…my all-time favourite musical EVER!!
